Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

Parley is designed so your data never leaves your device. This policy describes exactly what happens to the audio, transcripts, and summaries Parley creates.

What we collect from you

Nothing. Parley does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on remote servers. There are no Parley servers.

What stays on your device

When you record audio in Parley, the following are stored only on your iPhone and encrypted with a 256-bit AES key that never leaves the device:

The encryption key is stored in the iOS Keychain with the WhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly accessibility tier, which excludes it from iCloud Keychain sync and from unencrypted backups.

Network activity

Parley makes exactly one type of network request: on first launch it downloads the speech recognition and speaker identification model files from a public open-source model repository (Hugging Face). This download contains generic model weights only — none of your audio, transcripts, or summaries are transmitted. After this one-time download, Parley operates entirely offline.

Permissions

No analytics, no tracking

Parley contains no analytics SDKs, no telemetry, no crash reporting services, and no advertising identifiers.

Sharing

When you tap the share icon on a recording, Parley hands the formatted text to the standard iOS share sheet. From there, you choose which destination (Mail, Messages, Notes, etc.) receives the content. Parley itself does not share data with anyone.

Children’s privacy

Parley does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. The app is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be noted in the App Store release notes for the affected version.
